A SWTP raffle winner's social work story:

amelia kidAmelia Kidd is a second year MSW student at NYU's Silver School of Social Work. Inspired by her work in a methadone clinic prior to matriculation, and her first field placement at an alternative-to-incarceration program in the South Bronx, she is interested in the intersection of the criminal justice and mental health/drug treatment systems in the United States. Additionally, Amelia has a strong passion for women's issues, focusing her prior research and current clinical work on helping young women who struggle with eating disorders. She hopes to start a career after graduation that allows her to engage in social work at both the macro and micro levels, and will likely pursue a Ph.D in social work or social policy. Amelia has had a long term interest in clinical psychology, however, decided to pursue social work since the field emphasizes how societal, cultural, interpersonal (& more!) factors influence both human development and mental illness.

Congratulations, Amelia.  Good luck with the exam and on all your future work!
