Anxiety comes up throughout social work practice — and, unsurprisingly, on the social work licensing exam. If you'd rather listen than read, a good anxiety podcast can be an easy way to deepen your understanding of panic, OCD, exposure, worry, and the ways anxiety shows up in everyday life. Here are a few worth a listen:

  • The Panic Pod, hosted by psychotherapist Joshua Fletcher, combines clinical explanations with Fletcher's own experience of anxiety. Episodes cover panic, OCD, agoraphobia, health anxiety, social anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and related concerns.
  • The Anxious Truth, hosted by Drew Linsalata, is particularly useful for understanding panic attacks, agoraphobia, avoidance, exposure, and anxiety recovery.
  • Your Anxiety Toolkit, hosted by Los Angeles LMFT Kimberley Quinlan, covers anxiety, panic, OCD, social anxiety, health anxiety, and related concerns, with an emphasis on practical skills. It's still publishing new episodes regularly.
  • Anxiety Slayer, from Shann Vander Leek and Ananga Sivyer, took a gentler, mindfulness-oriented approach to anxiety and stress. The show ended in January 2026, but its 16-year archive remains available through the end of the year.

Podcasts aren't a substitute for treatment, but they can be useful for putting clinical concepts into everyday language — helpful when you're studying for the exam and when you're working with clients.
