kingWishing you a great MLK Day. Some good reminders about his life and legacy here

During the Civil Rights Movement in the 1960s, social workers played an important role in working with Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and his organization, the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC). These social workers provided crucial support to King and his team in their efforts to promote social justice and racial equality. Among the civil rights social work notables:

Dorothy Height: Height was a social worker and civil rights activist who worked closely with MLK and the SCLC. She served as president of the National Council of Negro Women and worked to promote gender and racial equality.

Whitney M. Young Jr.: Young was a social worker and civil rights leader who served as the executive director of the National Urban League. He worked with MLK and other civil rights leaders to promote economic equality and end segregation.

These social workers, and many others, worked tirelessly alongside MLK and other civil rights leaders to promote social justice and equality. They provided critical support and expertise that helped to shape the Civil Rights Movement and bring about significant change in American society.
