Dr. Hutch over at socialworkexam.com has launched a new earn-scholarship-money-for-someone-while-running-test-questions thing along the lines of that earn-rice-for-hungry-people-while-running-vocabulary-questions thing (Free Rice [No Longer Up]).

February 2, 2009  |  exam day

There's a good post-test summary from a fellow exam-prep blogger here.  Passed and passing the wisdom along. One tip for the 21st century:  Seems they take your picture when you arrive at the testing center (at least in CA they do).

Overload

January 30, 2009  |  meta  |  quiz  |  misc

Just read a bunch about delirium, dementia, amnesia, substance abuse, so taking a blogging break. It's a habit I'm trying to catch: blog-as-study-break rather than blog-as-procrastination-tool. Or tools--

Free Social Work Test Prep?

January 25, 2009  |  courses  |  materials

Can you pass the licensure exam without laying out a lot of money? Maybe, sort of. You can save a bunch, turns out, leaning on the web for a lot of materials SWTP's Suggested Study Links make that easy.

Free Social Work Test Prep?

Free Social Work Test Prep?

January 23, 2009

Yeah, I bought the full package--books, CDs, workshops, online practice tests. (There's also phone question questioning I've yet used.) Do I regret it? Is it possible to get fully prepped for the licensing exam without laying out that kind of cash?

Mindfulness v. Test Anxiety

Mindfulness v. Test Anxiety

January 21, 2009  |  less stress

Just studying can be anxiety making.  'Cause you don't know the stuff yet.  'Cause the vignettes are all so grim.  Just because. Test day?  The same, but more.

More Social Work Flash Cards

More Social Work Flash Cards

January 19, 2009  |  flash cards

More flash cards here. Some of these are actually pretty good. I've heard it suggested that, even if you buy fancy company cards (e.g., AATBS), you ought consider writing out each of the cards you don't know at first go-through.
